Rode Walker

Rode Walker

Founder & President

Rode has a great appreciation for traditional building techniques, natural materials and historic authenticity. Rode’s many years of designing in the textile industry is evident in the elements of color and texture found in each home. A Timber and Stone Builders custom home is both simple and elegant and each design reflects the unique personality of the homeowner.

The prestigious Hill Country Tour of Homes has awarded Timber and Stone Builders multiple honors. Rode responds to the accolades in simple terms. “We simply care about our clients and their families,” he says. “The custom homes we are building for them now will be enjoyed for generations to come. And the reputation we are earning through excellent customer service will carry Timber and Stone Builders into the future.”

"From conceptual design features to material selections, Rode Walker and Timber and Stone Builders exhibited the highest levels of professionalism and construction management. Our buildings were constructed entirely of vintage timbers, custom-milled lumber and several different stone types requiring coordination and exceptional craftsmanship together with innovation to achieve the desired result. Adding to the complexity of the project, we incorporated mechanical and structural features which are somewhat unconventional, but which were perfectly executed by Rode and his staff. We are pleased to give our unqualified endorsement to Timber and Stone."

Wade & Melinda Kilpatrick

"Restoration of an antique log cabin qualifies more as artwork than construction, requiring talent, experience, flexibility and access to vintage materials. Timber & Stone Builders exceeded our greatest expectations in restoring and adding on to our vintage log cabin. Rode is honest, dependable, available and more than capable. More importantly, he maintained a personal pride in our cabin, as if it were his own. He completed our project on time and on budget and made it better than anticipated. Finally, the process was enjoyable. We built a cabin in the Hill Country for recreation; never knowing that the fun would start with construction."

Dean & Laurie McKenzie

"We have worked with Timber and Stone Builders and Rode Walker on several projects in the Hill Country. The major project was the building of a restored log cabin outside of Harper. Rode is very competent in what he is doing and cares about each house that he builds. His workers are also top notch. We were not on site for the majority of the construction as we live 5 hours away, but we were never disappointed when we came to look things over. If the opportunity arises again, we will use Rode and Timber and Stone Builders to build our next getaway."

Chris & Pam Morphew

"Timber and Stone Builders, Inc. helped our local museum with the renovation of an old Log Cabin. We were very pleased with the professionalism of the entire crew. All our questions and concerns were answered with patience and complete knowledge of the project. We were extremely satisfied."
